At Sodbury Book Garden, our mission is to enrich lives through literature, celebrating the transformative power of stories and the joy of discovery.
We're always happy to help you find your next favourite book. Whether you're a keen reader, or you've only read 'To Kill a Mockingbird' because your English teacher told you to, we'll be able to find something to spark your next literary adventure!

Sodbury Book Garden was established in 2024 by husband-and-wife team Jasmin and Matthew. We've lived in and around Yate and Chipping Sodbury our whole lives and are huge lovers of this local, vibrant community we have here. We have two bookworm kids (who we've named after book characters!) and who are hardly ever seen without a story in their hands!

We only have a small space, but we're very proud of it! We pack in everything we can, from the latest bestsellers to classic self-help titles. What's more - if we don't have something in stock, we can order almost anything for next day store collection or home delivery. We also have a selection of stationery, puzzles and gift items in store, so you never know what you're going to discover!
Meet The Gardiners Behind the Book Garden
The Bookworm: Jasmin
With a passion for books since a young age, Jasmin is one of our founders and loves nothing more than curling up with a good romance novel or the latest Alice Roberts book on ancient history.
Jasmin is the main face of the bookshop, running the day-to-day operations and the person you're most likely to see if (or when!) you pop in.
When not working in the bookshop or reading, Jasmin enjoys being outdoors in nature and visiting museums 🌿
The "Serious Businessman": Matthew
Matthew discovered the joy of reading as a teenager, devouring his mum's Stephen King novels by the dozen! Now, he enjoys strong, character-driven fiction and business & self-development non-fiction.
Matthew is the 'numbers guy' working behind the scenes, pretending like he knows how to keep the ship afloat. You may occasionally see him in the store as well - you'll just have to come on down and find out!
When not working on the bookstore, Matthew runs another business as a Chartered Surveyor specialising in older and listing buildings. He also loves cooking, being outdoors and listening to obscure music 🎸
The Pup: Hubble
You may see our shy little springer, Hubble, around the store sometimes, if he's feeling confident enough to come out and say hello!
